Acoustics Module
Try the brand new Acoustics Module! This product is a complete modeling environment for linear wave-like phenomena in fluids and structures. A set of suitable boundary conditions, for example PMLs (perfectly matched layers), makes it easy to handle infinite surroundings. Also, far-field integral processing increases the classes of problems you can solve.
The exercises include
- Study the near- and far-field acoustic pressure distribution of a down-firing subwoofer. This model introduces you to many important aspects of acoustics modeling in COMSOL Multiphysics.
- Simulate inductive and resistive sound damping in a model of an automotive muffler.
- Learn how to model bidirectional acoustic-structure interaction. In this exercise, a sound source is placed inside a hollow cylinder immersed in water.
- Set up and solve an advanced aeroacoustics model of noise propagation and damping in a jet-engine duct.
