COMSOL 3.2b UPDATE

If you are using COMSOL 3.2a software products, it is recommended that you upgrade to COMSOL 3.2b. See Installation
below for information on how to check your COMSOL software version and how to install the COMSOL 3.2b update.
Note:
If you are a COMSOL Reaction Engineering Lab customer, we recommend
you wait for the COMSOL 3.2b CD set that will be sent to you. The
COMSOL Reaction Engineering Lab model updates and documentation updates are not available
as part of this web update.

Before you begin, make sure that you run COMSOL version 3.2.0.300 or 3.2.0.301. These are the only versions that can be updated with the 3.2b software update. On the Help menu, click "About COMSOL Multiphysics" to check your version.
If you have version 3.2.0.222 or 3.2.0.224, you first need
to update COMSOL 3.2 to to COMSOL 3.2a. To do this, use the
COMSOL 3.2a Update.
PC Installation Instructions
Download the self-extracting executable file comsol32b.exe. Close all instances of COMSOL Multiphysics, COMSOL Script, and MATLAB before you begin the installation process. Run the executable and unpack the files to your COMSOL installation directory, for example, C:\COMSOL32a. This is the directory where the filelicenseinfo.ini and the directories multiphysics and doc are located.
UNIX and Linux Installation Instructions
Download the tar file comsol32b.tar. Connect to the COMSOL installation directory, for example, /usr/local/comsol32a (type cd /usr/local/comsol32a). Type
tar xf [download file path]/comsol32b.tar
to apply the hotfix.
Mac OS X Installation Instructions
Mount the downloaded disk image by double-clicking it. Run the AppleScript "COMSOL 3.2b Installer". It will ask you to locate your COMSOL installation folder, for example, "Macintosh HD:Applications:COMSOL32". This is the folder where the filelicenseinfo.ini and the directories multiphysics and doc are located.
Check the Installation
Do the following to check that the installation is complete:- Start COMSOL Multiphysics.
- On the Help menu, click About COMSOL Multiphysics.
- Check that the version number is 3.2.0.304 (If the installation did not finish correctly, the version number is 3.2.0.300 or 3.2.0.301).
