MATLAB 2007a Compatibility Patch

On Linux, COMSOL 3.3a is compatible with MATLAB 2007a if the following patch is applied.

Instructions for patching COMSOL 3.3a:

  1. Download the patch
  2. Connect to the subdirectory bin in the COMSOL installation directory, for example, /usr/local/comsol33 by typing:
    cd /usr/local/comsol33/bin
  3. Make a backup copy of the file comsol:
    cp comsol comsol.orig
  4. Apply the patch with the command:
    patch comsol {download directory}/comsol-ml74-linux.patch

Alternatively you can set the environment variable BLAS_VERSION to refblas.so:libflblas.so.
