Introduction

Expand your knowledge of COMSOL Multiphysics, and learn how the software solves sets on linear, non-linear, and multiphysics equations. Get the best performance out of the solvers, especially the new segregated solver. Some theory will be introduced and related to issues of model convergence and stability. In addition you will be taught how to mesh properly for optimum accuracy and solution speed. Feel free to bring your own models to receive expert guidance!

Contents

The instructor will select topics from this list as well as others as requested by attendees:
  • Setting up and solving linear, non-linear, and multiphysics problems
  • How to select the best solver and set the corresponding solver parameters
  • Improving convergence, solution speed, and memory requirements
  • Identifying sources of error and improving model accuracy
  • Mesh control and visualization
  • Working with coupling variables

Suggested Background

This 1-day course builds upon the attendee's prior knowledge of creating and solving models in COMSOL Multiphysics. Although the Introduction to COMSOL Multiphysics course is not a prerequisite, we strongly recommend that those new to COMSOL Multiphysics take that course prior to attending this Advanced Modeling course.
